Hello dearest Gecko mailing list subscriber, I hope you are doing ok!
Today I am announcing not 1, not 2 but 3 album launches for my brand new album ‘The Big Picture’ for next March.
March 12th London Green Note, Camden (Early bird tickets here)
March 14th Manchester Sacred Trinity Chapel, Salford (Early bird tickets here)
March 29th Malmesbury, Three Cups (Tickets here) HOMELAND OF THE FAMOUS TAMWORTH TWO PIGS!
These are my first headline shows since 2023, it would be fantastic if you could grab your tickets early. They are all small spaces, I’d love to pack them with lizard legends. Last time I launched an album we were in the midst of a pandemic so I couldn’t have a physical album launch so I thought it was only right that this time I had three!
SO WHAT IS ‘THE BIG PICTURE’ THAT YOU’RE LAUNCHING?
‘The Big Picture’ is my third album and it’s the culmination of five years of work. I’m genuinely so proud of this music and I can’t wait for you to hear it. This summer I launched a crowdfunder to fund the finishing of the record and as of last week, it’s done! Recorded, mixed, mastered, done. Now vinyl pressing is under way and I can plan these very special launch shows to help this album out into the world.
Alongside finishing the album, in October I toured the UK supporting my friends The Skints on their acoustic tour and toured my family show with poet Simon Mole ‘The Great Big Dinosaur Show’. Suffice to say as soon as that all wrapped and I signed off the final masters I immediately got a fever and collapsed for a few days. But I have risen again with a mailing list to write!
Lots of people kindly joined this mailing list after some gentle persuasion from me at a Skints show as well as a lot of curious folk thanks to my friend and poet/comedian Daniel Piper going viral on substack and having a recommendation to me on his profile. For those new to the world of lizard here’s a little list of some things you might like:
Gecko Live in London Episode One & Two (me playing some songs in a cosy setting within view of St Paul’s Cathedral)
Take a Look Around -The first song I released from my upcoming album with a video containing an epic journey across the south coast of this land and an extremely good seagull
My Spotify Where my tunes are if you like to stream
My Bandcamp Where my tunes are if you like to buy PLUS T-shirts and records and things like that
& BECAUSE IT’S DECEMBER:
THAT TIME OF YEAR -‘The Gecko Xmas classic that should be on the curriculum’ A very wise elf
LAST XMAS SUNG BY A SAD BIRD -Potentially the best thing I’ve ever done that might be just slightly too weird to ever reach the viral nature it feels it’s so very close to being on the cusp of
A XMAS gig
Me and Si Mole will be performing something from our dinosaur show at Robin Ince’s family Matinee version of ‘Nine Lessons’ at Kings Place, London Tickets here
Talking of Xmas a good Xmas present might be tickets for an ALBUM LAUNCH show!
Thanks so much for reading,
All the lizard love,
Your friendly neighbourhood Gecko
